2012 NORTH HARBOUR BEACH VOLLEYBALL OPEN

The Men’s competitions will see a great level of play with top international teams training through the summer to help Kirk Pitman and Jason Lochhead (33rd ranked team in the world) prepare for the London Olympics. Germany’s Julius Brink and Jonas Reckerman (3rd ranked team in the World), Norway Tarjah Skarland and Martin Spinnangr (18th ranked in the World), Sweden‘s Hannes Brinkbourg and Steffan Gunnarson (30th ranked team in the world), and USA’s Ed Ratlege and Jesse Rambis, son of NBA star Kurt Rambis highlight the Men’s competition which will certainly create a sandstorm on the beach.
Raising the battles on the beaches even further will be the women’s competition, with serious contenders for medals in the London Olympics from Germany, the Netherlands and Spain arriving on our shores. Confirmed teams to play the National Tour include German Women’s Team Sara Goller and Laura Ludwig ranked 9th in the World, making their 4th visit to New Zealand, whom are training here with New Zealand coach Craig Seuseu.
Dutch teams Marleen Van Iersel and Sanne Kaiser, ranked 7th in the world, and winning two world tour events on 2011, are also competing as are country compatriots Van der Hoeven and Van der Vlist, ranked 37th.
Then the Spanish Team of Liliana-Baquerizo, ranked 11th in the World arrive to play the last two events of the National Tour.
Then to top the stunning list of Women’s teams to our shore we add the two Great Britain Teams, Shauna Mullin and Zara Dampney, 34th ranked in the world, and Denise Johns and Lucy Boulton, 50th ranked in the world, one team of which will play in London.
And finally the Vanuatu women’s teams are arriving to play, who are the 2011 South Pacific Games Champions.

2012 North Harbour Corporate Competition
Friday, 27th January * 5pm-9pm
Entry fee: $200 per team
Competition is 4 aside social volleyball, with up to 6 players per team.
Tournament BBQ will be supplied for all participants ($10 pp for non participants, please inform if you have other people attending)
There will be a cash bar operating
All teams will get 6 tickets to attend the North Harbour Beach Volleyball Open either on Saturday January 28th, or Sunday January 29th.

Evening Schedule:
5pm-5.30 - Coaching session for all teams, how to play, basic rules, basic skills.
5.30 pm - Matches start. Team play a minimum of 3 matches.
Matches will be timed with results recorded by supplied referees.
8.30 pm - Expected time for finals

And now to end it all the 'Party of all Parties' is being held at The Albany Situated opposite 'The Avenue' heading north on State Highway 17, you will find a welcoming environment with a large garden bar, providing plentiful room to enjoy a meal or drink in peaceful surroundings.
Come and social with the teams in a great environment. DJ will be blasting the latest beats.
$10 per ticket and your first drink is on us.
