NHV made history in New Zealand in 2005 when they were granted the lease of Mairangi Bay Bowls Club. The premises was converted into the Mairangi Bay Beach Volleyball Centre. This centre has provided the players of Auckland with a constant training facility and a home base for Volleyball on the North Shore.

Not only does North Harbour have world class Beach Volleyball athletes but also in Indoor Volleyball too. The top North Harbour Volleyball club 'Harbour Raiders' currently hold the New Zealand Mens National Club Title. Over half of the starting players for this premier team are also players in the New Zealand Men's Team. This club would not have the reputation is has today without the consistent support of Club Manager and Ex New Zealand Mens Captain Grant Bindon.
