MAIRANGI BAY BEACH VOLLEYBALL CENTRE
In 2006 the old Mairangi Bay Bowls Club was converted into what is now the Mairangi Bay Beach Volleyball Centre. This is a one of kind facility in New Zealand.
The centre holds one large sand pit which nicely fits 6 full sized Beach Volleyball courts. Surrounding the sand pit are shaded benches for spectators. The pit is outlined by rubber matting for safety of players. Near the entrance is 2 functional shower cubicles which provide refreshment on scorching hot summer days.
Inside the clubhouse is an equiped kitchen, stocked with yummy food and drink on tournament days, a large area with comfy couches to rest and a well maintained restroom.
The centre has a newly installed irragation system which prevents dust from travelling and keeps the sand cool during summer.
The centre is available for hire for sports groups and/ or functions in the clubhouse.
The 6 Beach Volleyball courts are permanently installed but can be removed for full use of sandpit.
The centre is perfect for groups such as Beach Soccer, Beach Tennis, Beach Touch and just about any beach converted sport. It is also a great training facility for athletes as it provides facilities on premisis, security and privacy.
